The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Countless users and merchants have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
